Non-human animals are sentient beings, that feel contentment and fear, pleasure and pain. Animal rights are not any less important than human rights.
I am a devout cat lover, and an uncompromising defender of the rights of feral cats. My definition of sentience is that any being who can understand other beings’ intentions, feel fear and pain, and be able to know joy and contentment, is sentient.
